Since early 2026, Aurecon, in association with QUAD Studio, has been providing Planning and Advisory Services for the Northern Link Spur Line, a key component of Hong Kong's future rail network expansion.

The Northern Link is a strategic infrastructure project designed to strengthen connectivity across the northern New Territories and support the long-term development of the Northern Metropolis. The scheme comprises two main components: the Northern Link Main Line, connecting Kam Sheung Road Station and Kwu Tung Station via three intermediate stations, and the Northern Link Spur Line, which will extend from the future San Tin Station to the new Huanggang Port in Shenzhen.

Once completed, the project is expected to significantly enhance regional and cross-boundary connectivity, improve access to employment and economic opportunities, and reduce travel times for residents and visitors travelling between Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The railway will also serve as a critical piece of infrastructure supporting the transformation of the Northern Metropolis into a major hub for innovation, technology, and sustainable urban development.

As planning progresses, Aurecon and QUAD Studio are pleased to contribute their expertise to a project that will help shape the future of mobility and regional integration in the Greater Bay Area.

Further updates on the Northern Link Spur Line are expected to be released in Fall 2026.
