THE CELL
THE CELL is a sculpture like a living organism which greets the visitors of the Lab and provide introduction to them. Designed by Ross Lovegrove with QUAD Studio, the sculpture is manufactured by the latest 3D printing technology of Nagami, with built in interactive sensors, sound and projection equipment. This hyper artistic sculpture is one of its kind, it re-defines the way a conventional reception operates and at the same time giving the visitors a moment of curiosity when they arrive.

The Digital Artwork
Inspired by the concept of THE CELL being a liviing organism, Motse moved forward in their design bringing THE CELL to life using digital interactive projection and sound. THE CELL can detect the presence of humans and uses sound and calls the visitor towards it. As the visitor gets closer and interacts with THE CELL, the organism inside THE CELL moves and adapts to the movement.
Biological
This the digital content of the installation by MOTSE. The ever-evolving form interacts with anyone that moves around it creating a digital form of social interaction.

Evolution
Evolution is a digital process where the form is a hybrid that merges the evolving form with a dissolving movement |
Interactive
Interactive is an extension of evolution as the dissolving movement interacts with the visitor. |
Digital Context
Digital Context is a simulation of the digital artwork in context. As the visitor interacts, the dissolving movement of the form responds and moves simultaneously with the visitor

Inspired by the concept of organic life, C future lab creatively combines nature, art and technology in a clever way to design a new future life form. It represents the pinnacle of human art and technology civilization, as well as countless great works created by human beings through continuous learning and thinking from the creation of nature. The combination of machinery and sculpture, artificial intelligence and interactive technology, biological evolution and new material science, this future image calls for all people to come to it and talk with the future of mankind.
The Making of THE CELL
Exploring and developing product design for this technological era, Nagami manufactures sculptural, futuristic design products using Robotic, polymer dispensing arm. With The Cell, Nagami coin a new approach to design that crystallises the natural programming in nature with that of robotics within artificial manufacturing.
The Installation
In May 2020, THE CELL was brought to C Future City ready to be installed in C Future Lab. From its manufacture, the installation took 3 months shipped from Spain to Shenzhen. Upon arrival, the installation took a team of seven people to pave the logistics from the ground zero to the C Future Lab located on Level 4.
